Amaterasu

Amaterasu is a sun goddess of Japan. When her brother Susanowa (the storm god) destructed the earth, she hid in the cave because he was so noisy. And her disappearence took the light and life away from world. Demons took over the earth, so other gods tried to draw Amatersau out of the cave. But nothing worked. Finally Uzume succeeded. Laughter of the gods and goddesses when they saw Uzume's comical dance drew her attention. When she looked outside the cave, streak of light escaped. She saw the mirror that Uzume hang up and she went closer to get a better look of herself. Then the gods grabbed her and pulled her out of the cave. She returned to the sky and brought the light and life back to the world.
